The Hoyas were able to play one drive in the forth before another weather delay was called at 7:58.With under a minute remaining, Abood made a 22-yard field goal to cap off the scoring 27-10. The Hoyas kept control of the ball through the remainder of the quarter when Wedner Cadet forced a fumble on the SHU punt return that was recovered by Will Kessler.Georgetown responded on the next drive when Kearney broke through the SHU defense on a one-yard rush to make the score 21-10.Halfway through the second, the Pioneers earned a 27-yard rushing touchdown to bring the score within four (14-10).The Hoyas finished off the first quarter with a rushing touchdown from Stakely to extend the GU lead 14-3.Sam Renzi kicked a 35-yard field goal to narrow the score 7-3. SHU responded with three points after being denied a touchdown.Ricky Abood made the kick to put the Hoyas up 7-0.
Georgetown got on the board first after Tyler Knoop made a 45-yard pass to Kibble.The sophomore also recorded one sack and one quarterback hit. John Caramanico tallied four tackles,including forcing two tackles for a loss of 12 yards.On the defense the Hoyas made two interceptions, two forced fumbles, two broken up passes, two quarterback hits and three sacks.Joshua Stakely ran for 116 yards on 17 attempts and earned one touchdown while Naieem Kearney ran for 140 yards on 15 attempts and one touchdown.GU also excelled in the passing game with 6.7 yards per attempt for 148 total and one touchdown. The Hoyas dominated the Pioneers in the running game with 6.8 yards per run for a total of 296 and two touchdowns.I was very impressed with how they came back out and finished the game after the break." WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University football team (2-0) fought the weather to capture a 27-10 victory at home over Sacred Heart on Saturday afternoon on Cooper Field.
